BUFFALO, OXEN, BOAR & BARRA
We can do a double package to include 5 days buffalo and/or wild oxen hunting, and 5 days boar hunting and barramundi fishing.
Your best choice is to charter a light aircraft or helicopter for a scenic flight to our buffalo camp in Arnhem Land. The charter company would then pick you up on day 5 of your buffalo hunt to take you to our airstrip in Western Arnhem Land, where you would continue your hunt for wild boars, barramundi fishing and scenic tour. Alternatively, one of our guides could provide you with road transportation from our buffalo camp to our boar camp in Western Arnhem Land.
The best months for fishing our world-famous barramundi are August, September, October and November as, during the cooler months of June and July, the fish tend to go off the bite. Early September through November is also our waterfowl season for ducks and geese. Fishing and waterfowl hunting are available in season upon request.
Our Buffalo, Oxen, Boar & Barra Safari package includes all road transfers, permits, insurance, accommodation, trophy fees (various options available; for example: 1 x trophy buffalo bull and 1 x management buffalo bull or cull buffalo hunt per hunter, trophy boars and barramundi as agreed; please contact us so we may tailor a hunt to suit your preferences), use of a Yamaha ATV Rhino, all meals and beverages, but alcohol is “Bring Your Own”.
Charter flights are an additional cost.
We have a special liquor permit to allow the consumption of alcohol by our clients at our camps in Arnhem Land. However, all alcohol must be carried in by road by an employee of Tropical Hunting Safaris.
Also included in the package are caping and field preparation of your trophy buffalo bull ready to be sent to your preferred taxidermist, or we can recommend one. Please note that packing and shipping of your trophy is an additional cost.
For an additional fee we can supply large calibre rifles with ammunition for the buffalo hunt as well as .270 and .308 scoped rifles with ammunition for the boar hunt.
For International clients bringing your own rifles, we require a minimum of 8 weeks’ notice so that we may organise all permits, licences and customs clearance prior to your arrival in Australia. This would incur a small additional fee.
